Corporations

The 21st century corporation often consists of autonomous units, each with a specific mission to support corporate goals. To thrive in the global competitive environment, a company must be nimble, flexible, and keenly sensitive to market changes.  But, flexibility without direction is chaos. To be successful, corporate leaders need to set clear direction and make sure everyone is focused on the same prize. In other words, they must achieve goal alignment within their organizations. Then, with focus like the proverbial magnifying glass, corporate units can accomplish great things.

We typically work with the executive management and the operating units within the corporation. We help leaders set direction, clarify management roles and decision rights, develop SMART goals for the unit and sub-units, develop personal goals, develop managers and team leaders, layout succession plans, evaluate staff members, and coach key leaders.

The process begins with fact-finding interviews with the unit leader and other staff members. Here, we clarify issues, identify performance gaps, and layout short and long range objectives. We may also employ individual and organizational assessment tools to help in this process.

After that, we propose a customized process to meet the unit’s objectives. We usually build this by using modules of our field-tested processes and could include Executive Leadership for the top leaders, Managerial Leadership for the mid-level managers, Customer Loyalty Leadership for the entire organization, and In-ContextTM coaching for key individuals. Our processes usually take place in weekly structured staff meetings. For example, Executive Leadership for the top leaders may be twelve weekly 2-hour staff meetings followed by monthly follow-ups.
